Description
Kaunas University of the Third Age (KAUNO TAU) is a non-formal adult education institution dedicated to lifelong learning for older adults. We welcome Erasmus+ job-shadowing guests for 3 or more days to observe and participate in our educational activities. Our programme includes:
- Design workshops – creative practice with hands-on methods, visual communication and applied arts.
- Lectures on Lithuanian history – key periods, cultural heritage and local identity.
- Technology presentations – demonstrations of innovative tools, practical digital solutions and “technology curiosities” for everyday use.
European Dimension
Our activities are aligned with the European priorities in adult educationand contribute to:
1. Inclusion and lifelong learning for 50+ learners
We promote equal access to education for older adults, including people with limited prior learning opportunities. Our work supports social participation, learning motivation and empowerment in line with European strategies on active ageing and inclusion.
2. Digital transformation and everyday digital skills
Through “Technology curiosities” sessions, we develop practical digital literacy, awareness of emerging technologies, and responsible online behaviour. We support the EU priority of digital skills for all adults, especially those with low digital confidence.
3. Strengthening European identity and cultural heritage
Lectures on Lithuanian and European history foster shared values, intercultural understanding and cultural awareness. We link local heritage to wider European historical narratives and encourage dialogue between Erasmus+ partners.
4. Creative skills and innovation in adult learning
Design workshops encourage creativity, visual expression and collaborative learning methods that strengthen key competences for lifelong learning. We exchange methodologies with European partners to improve innovative teaching practices.
5. Capacity building and cooperation between adult education providers
Through Erasmus+ job shadowing we aim to share methods, develop new community-based practices, and build long-term partnerships with organisations working with older adults across Europe.
