Kauno trečiojo amžiaus universitetas is a non-governmental adult education association that has been operating on a voluntary basis with active adults aged 50 and above for over 24 years. It runs 13 faculties attended by approximately 800 seniors (1350 in 2019), offering courses in subjects such as history, art, ICT, law, literature, theology, and ecological knowledge. The association relies solely on symbolic membership fees and does not employ any paid staff. They actively participate in international and ministry projects to motivate their deans, lecturers, administration, and the most active listeners. The average age of their attendees ranges from 65 to 75 years old, with seniors attending seminars to continue learning and acquiring new skills. They aim to involve seniors with physical or mental disabilities who currently face barriers in attending lectures or participating in European projects. This effort aligns with the project’s priorities, as it addresses ageing-related challenges and prepares all seniors for potential future issues.
