Description
This 3-day intensive course explores how to make beach and water sports accessible to all, focusing on individuals with physical, sensory, or cognitive disabilities. Participants will learn about universal design principles, adaptive equipment, and inclusive teaching methodologies through a mix of theory and hands-on practice.
Workshops will include demonstrations of adaptive surf techniques and SUP, guided reflection sessions, and field visits to accessible beaches in the Peniche region. Trainers from ESTM and local associations will share real-world case studies and European good practices.
By the end of the course, participants will gain practical tools to implement inclusive sport and tourism experiences in their own contexts, fostering empowerment, participation, and well-being.
European Dimension
The course promotes European values of inclusion, equality, and solidarity by bringing together trainers and participants from different EU countries. It aligns with Erasmus+ priorities on social inclusion and health promotion through sport and active living. The program integrates European best practices in accessible tourism and supports cooperation among coastal institutions.
