Description

  The course introduces Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) for EU trainers in education, linking entrepreneurship, culture and sustainability through design-based collaborative learning and research in innovative formats. This course is designed for adult education trainers, higher education staff, and educational professionals from European member states interested in applying ESD, Design Based Collaborative Learning (DBCL), Design Based Collaborative Research (DBCR), and innovative collaboration methods in their institutions.    

Methodology

Inputs, discussions, and collaborative workgroups supported by design thinking and practice research in real-life contexts (e.g. Torino Mercato Centrale). Focus on converting learning time into joint development time.
Trainers & Expertise
Enrica Pautasso – European Project Manager, Smart Revolution, expert in design thinking, DBCL, creativity and innovation. Paola Capello – Educational professional with experience in cultural and sustainability-oriented learning. Alberico Bedini – Expert in educational methods, cross-cultural learning, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

- Introduction to ESD, SDGs, and sustainability
- Teaching and learning concepts for ESD
- Validation/certification: ECTS, ECVET, micro-credentials
- DBCL and DBCR methodologies
- Design thinking methods and tools
- Transnational, interdisciplinary workgroups developing modules
- Prototyping and presentations of outputs


Expected Outcome

  • Understand ESD concepts and integrate them into modules and courses
  • Gain knowledge on validation and certification (ECTS, ECVET, micro-credentials)
  • Apply Design Based Collaborative Learning and Research (DBCL and DBCR) methodologies in educational settings
  • Develop and prototype innovative ESD teaching units
  • Engage in interdisciplinary, transnational collaboration
