Learn how to identify regional biomass resources, develop biochar-based value chains and implement a Circular Carbon Management System to support local climate action and carbon sequestration.



European Dimension

The course is delivered within the European CASCADE and THREE C networks and brings together participants from different countries and professional backgrounds. Through transnational teamwork and exchange of regional case studies, participants develop solutions for climate mitigation and Circular Carbon Economy implementation. The programme directly contributes to the Erasmus+ priorities of environmental sustainability, innovation, lifelong learning, active citizenship and European cooperation.

Day 1 (Monday)

  • Introduction to Circular Carbon Economy and biochar

  • Biomass resources and regional challenges

  • Team building and project definition

Day 2 (Tuesday)

  • Biomass recovery and conversion pathways

  • Biochar quality and applications

  • Stakeholder analysis and regional value chains

Day 3 (Wednesday)

  • Excursion to pyrolysis plants and biochar projects

  • Practical examples and expert discussions

Day 4 (Thursday)

  • Circular Carbon Management System (CCMS)

  • Design Thinking workshop

  • Development of regional carbon management scenarios

Day 5 (Friday)

  • Presentation of project concepts

  • Competence validation and feedback

  • Network building and future cooperation
