Description

The "Europawoche" project targeted adults with psychological disabilities (ages 18-20 and 30-50) to build self-confidence, autonomy, and European belonging through an open learning design mixing structured activities and free time. It addressed barriers like social anxiety via experiential learning in unfamiliar settings.


European Dimension

The European dimension featured intercultural immersion in Pisa and Florence, highlighting Tuscan heritage contrasts with Germany, promoting cross-cultural awareness and EU values accessibility for disadvantaged groups.


Tentative Program & Schedule

  • Day 1: Travel by train/plane, learning procedures and stress handling.

  • Day 2: Morning guided Pisa tour (history, local habits); afternoon free time.

  • Day 3: Morning sailing in Marina di Pisa (teamwork, communication); afternoon beach free time.

  • Day 4: Florence trip with group and independent exploration.

  • Day 5: Pizza workshop (cooking, collaboration, intercultural learning).


Expected Outcome

Outcomes included boosted social openness, autonomy in navigation, intercultural awareness, and high satisfaction; learners showed competence growth via LEVEL5 validation on "Autonomous and confident learning in a European context" (knowledge, skills, attitudes). Assessment involved feedback sessions and external evaluation by experts/accompanists; certificates align with TRAIL Competence Framework.
