Description
During his/her placement with Sambhali Trust in India, the volunteer will contribute to the organization’s overarching mission of supporting marginalized women and children and promoting self-esteem, economic independence, community cohesion, and the development of educational, professional, and social skills. The activities will be aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4, 5, 8, and 10.
Her/his specific tasks will include:
- Facilitating sports and outdoor activities with small groups of participants to encourage teamwork and personal development.
- Co-creating and co-facilitating informative workshops on topics such as women’s rights, self-esteem, gender-based inequalities, and the SDGs, in collaboration with local staff.
- Supporting children in their daily educational and recreational activities.
- Participating in events and communication efforts of the organization.
- Conducting regular reflections and reporting on tasks and missions completed to support monthly reporting processes with local staff.
Through these activities, the volunteer will develop intercultural communication, facilitation, and mentoring skills, while actively contributing to the empowerment and inclusion of women and children in the local community.
European Dimension
Although our project takes place in India, it is specifically designed for disadvantaged young people and aims to enhance their employability through international mobility. A particular focus is placed on supporting participants’ professional integration or, when relevant, their return to education following the mobility experience. Through tailored mentoring, practical volunteering tasks, and reflective workshops, the project helps young participants develop professional skills, intercultural competence, and personal confidence, providing concrete tools and experiences to strengthen their future career or educational pathways.
Tentative Program & Schedule
The daily tasks will include:
